Tim started his career in woodcarving at a local furniture makers who made high quality bespoke and reproduction furniture.
One of their biggest clients was Harrods, where Tim would go once a year to do carving demonstrations. He would also demonstrate at the Ideal Home Show in London, where he had the pleasure of meeting HRH Princess Diana.
Timothy worked there for eight years, completing his apprenticeship, plus a year’s carving course in London. He left in 1993 as one of the top carvers at the company and started working for himself, which he has done ever since.
Now with over 30 years experience in woodcarving, Timothy is one of a select band of master craftsmen keeping the tradition of fine English woodcarving alive.

Working from his studio in the Chilterns town of High Wycombe at the heart of England’s furniture making industry, Tim has gained a reputation for combining meticulous precision with depth and feeling in his work.
Taking great pleasure and care in all his work, he always aims to give his clients the best service he can.
Tim creates relief carvings, sculptures, lettering, inscriptions, memorials, signs, heraldic shields, mouldings and architectural woodwork, bespoke furniture, contemporary and period reproduction, tables, chairs, doors, antique restoration and gilding.

1985 – 1989 Apprenticeship in woodcarving with Frank Hudson & Son, one of England’s finest makers of high quality reproduction furniture.
1988 City and Guilds Distinction in Hand-Made Furniture.
1989 Woodcarving course, London.
1990 – 1995 Master carver with Frank Hudson & Son, working on period reproduction furniture and other wood sculptures.
1992 Ideal Home Exhibition, Earls Court, London.
1993 to present Self-employed master carver, producing high quality bespoke reproduction and original carving for discerning customers, including stately homes, architects, and celebrities from the world of entertainment.
1994 Oil and water gilding course.
